Reached is finally off my bookcase! I really looked forward to reading this book, especially as it is longer than the others, but also because I like to know how things end…

Lost and Found

Having forgotten where I put 1984 it seems unlikely I will finish it and post a review anytime soon. I was right near the end as well! I did, however, pop into the library the other day and discover that there is a sequel to Unwind by Neal Shusterman - Unwholly. The characters of the original book are coming back to me as I go along, hopefully I’ll post about it soon :)

The City of Ember

I have this funny feeling that I originally watched the film before reading this book, so my imagination was slightly tainted with how certain things look, however as I can’t remember the film very well any more it was as if I was starting afresh!

Possable cross over in Alex Rider and Power of Five

we-are-unwholly:

Alex Rider - In book 3, Skeleton Key, Alex crossed paths with a member The Big Circle, who are a member of the Chinese Traids. The Traids came after Alex and tried to kill him, leading MI6 to send Alex away to a safe place while they tried to smooth things out.

MI6 sorted things out with the Traids by releasing a few members of the Traid who had been in jail in the UK. MI6 sent the men back home to Honk Kong to their Traid.

Power of Five - Scarlett, the female Gatekeeper was watched all her life by people, these people made sure she was safe, mostly from her own carelessness, such as not looking before she crossed the road, almost killing herself. Each time a young man would save her. When she was fooled into going to Honk Kong she was saved yet again by these people. Anthony Horowitz is very clever and makes you think it is the Nexus who is helping Scarlett, but then she goes to their hideout and you learn that it is infact the Traids that are helping Scarlett, as they believe her to be their sea goddess. It turns out it’s the White Lotus Traid and we meet Lohan

Alex Rider
- Alex went to live with Sabina in America at the end of Scorpia Rising

Power of Five/Alex Rider -
So, if the Traids can be in both series, and the fact is that Mrs Jones sent some of their men to Hong Kong, to where Lohan is based with his Traid in Power of Five, then what is to stop Alex Rider being court up in all the events that followed in Power of Five, such as faming in the US and the Old Ones taken over the world. If this is right, then in Oblivion - if Alex Rider survived the Old Ones -  he would have been at least 25 years old plus as there was a 10 year jump in Oblivion, hell he may have even joined the Old Ones if he had got a job in government… scary when you think about it, isn’t it? Alex Rider and Power of Five crossed over, they already have as both have the Traids.
What is more, in Oblivion, there were many groups of people who came together to fight the Old Ones, and in the British group, there was a group called Wolf I think, or something like that… well in Alex Rider, in the first book, each of the SAS men had code names… and one of them was Wolf…and the man leading the British in Power of Five was code-named…WOLF.

Crossover do you think? Both series co-exisiting with each other.

I noticed the Wolf thing, but it never occured to me about the Chinese Triads…

Oblivion - Anthony Horowitz

Oblivion! Just wow! I have waited so long for this book to be released and it happened that I saw it in the library when I needed to waste some time. I really did not want to stop reading…

Quote…

Somewhere there is a book, which at the end, has ‘de mortuis nil nisi bonum’ then something like ‘or their souls will come back to haunt you’ Does anyone have ANY idea what this could be from? I can’t remember for the life of me!
